Branching Minds Awarded Research-Based Design Product Certification

Awarded by Digital Promise, this certification recognizes high-quality, research-driven edtech products

New York City, NY (March 17, 2022) – Branching Minds, the digital platform and national leader on Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) is proud to share it has earned the Research-Based Design Product Certification from Digital Promise.

To earn the certification, Branching Minds submitted evidence confirming the link between the learning science behind how students learn and the platform’s design.

“Branching Minds was designed to help teachers and administrators more easily differentiate and personalize learning through high-fidelity MTSS,” said Branching Minds co-founder and CEO, Maya Gat. “Our platform connects research on student learning to evidence-based instructional practices for teachers. As part of the Branching Minds platform, a student observation-based survey is provided to help teachers understand why a student is struggling in a particular academic or behavioral health and social-emotional domain. The questions are based on research and are reviewed by a team of cognitive psychologists, veteran educators, and expert consultants, ensuring the platform is teacher-friendly and consistent with the scientific research and psychometric standards.

Branching Minds also provides the most robust library of evidence-based learning supports and interventions across academics, behavior, and SEL, curating the most appropriate learning supports for each learner, alongside implementation guidance for teachers so they can deliver those supports with fidelity.

Digital Promise launched the Research-Based Design Product Certification in February 2020. The Certification uses a competency-based learning framework, developed in consultation with Digital Promise’s Learner Variability Project advisory board, expert researchers in the Learning Sciences field, and nearly 50 educators across the United States.
